The Ocean and Such

2:02pm 7/17/05
I'm eating from a buffet that has some of the worst chinese food I've ever had. No meat. All bread and grease. I am not proud to be an American at this moment.

2:04pm
I find something fun. What looks like a small octopus. On the buffet. I bring it back to my gf Kira and attempt to put it near her face, mouth, whatever I can get to. It. Smells. Rancid. Kira knows my ways, so all my attempts fail. It's worth a laugh though.

2:33pm (Do you really think these times are accurate?)(Well, they KIND OF are)
We leave the buffet with our friends Eric and April (and my roommate Jeff)(complete idiot).

2:37pm
We decide to drive to San Diego. The Plan: Get to SD by 9 or so. Get a hotel. Drive home after dinner on Monday night. It's about 5 hrs drive.

7/18/05 (My birthday!) 8:02pm
Well, we pretty much stick to it. Jeff (my roommate)(OK, he's not an idiot. He's actually a cool guy for being a 21 yr old punk)(Man, I need to be nice to Jeff). We take Viva to something called 'Dog Beach'. She loooves it. There are about 50-75 dogs frolicking freely on the beach. No leashes. She pretty much went nuts. Loved the water. Viva has this thing..that I hear is common with border collies.

She chases lights. Whatever sort of light you put her way. I use the flashlight a lot to driver her nuts. She’ll often start barking for no reason. Until we realize there’s a reflection somewhere..from my watch, whatever...shining on the ceiling or wall. Kinda scary in the car. Anyway, man...how boring is this blog? A single guy writing about his dog. Sorry. I do have to tell you, though, that she did the ultimate at the beach. She started barking at the sun. Even the other dogs were looking at her like she was nuts. Ok, I’m moving on from the dog topic.

Had a great time in SD. Played kadima a ton. I LOVE that game. Drove home thru the az desert. I have never stopped in a place so hot. It had to be at least 120.

Back to real time. Had a good weekend. Had a meeting yesterday with all the people involved in what we are calling “Fuel”. We are trying to create a multi-church worship event. We’ll see what happens. So far four churches are represented. Should be cool. We’ll have a website up soon. I’ll post it here when we do. For the two people (besides my gf and family) that read this. Hi Robyn. Here is the logo I made for it...

Just downloaded my favorite album from my pre-teen years. It’s “Get the Knack” by The Knack. Just ran across it again a few weeks ago. It STILL ROCKS. I can still recite all the words I used to sing in my African-themed bedroom (that my mom made) with the Panasonic stereo cranked. I possibly could’ve done air guitar too. Yeah, I’m pretty sure I did.

Site of the day.

I would like to add some deeper thoughts than “I went to Blockbuster today.” I just can’t think of anything right now.
