Props

Props #1
Fellow blogger Rhett Smith, the college pastor at my old church in LA. Just started reading his blog a few months ago. Really cool. The look, the setup, the conversations. Sharp guy. I posted a comment he made about the Four Spiritual Laws. Check it out if you'd like.

God. For creating Sedona, AZ. Just went there again this weekend. Found probably the best trail I've ever been on there. Secluded (never saw ANYONE). Not too steep but a good hike. And be-yoo-tiful. It's called Secret Canyon. Don't tell anyone.

Props #3
MacAlpine's, a cool soda fountain we found today. The owner has had some tough times..which is a shame cuz it's a cool place. They used to have dancing (clean, not dirty) :) on Friday nights but the city of Phoenix shut them down. Another cool place (newer) that Kira told me about is The Counter in Kierland Commons. Wanting to try that out too.

Props #4
Garmin, the GPS company. Just used my electronics budget..believe it or not, haven't bought anything in a WHILE. :)...to buy a Etrex Legend. It makes hiking (for me) even more fun. One of the best parts is being able to know how much further you have to go..I am just not good at that stuff...and having this helps me to gauge what's ahead, how long it will take, etc. It even has a feature that lets you drop electronic bread crumbs every so often while you're hiking...so that when you turn around it tells you exactly where to go (again, directionally challenged one here). Not only that, it will gauge how fast you are walking and guesstimate how long it will take you to get back to the car at that current rate. It helped us decide when to turn around (told us the sunset at that location) so that we wouldn't be walking in the dark. I fell in love with my nav for my car (which God knew I needed)...now am having fun just walking! Who woulda thought? BTW, it was hilarious hearing the conversations of me trying to explain to Kira all the features this thing has. Nothing I said impressed her. Nothing. She would be like, "Uh huh..." then a dead pause...lol...then she started making fun of me by saying "No way! It can do THAT! That's amazing!"...lol...But AHA..then...we get out on the trail...and she realizes you can use it to clock how fast you're walking...and I literally could NOT get that thing away from her. She just started booking. Got it up to 6.2 mph...our fastest speed during the hike. I really like that girl. :)

Props #5
My dog Viva. Just cuz she's barking right now. And is kinda cute.

Props #6
I was gonna end on 5. But I just thought of one more. Coldplay. Saw them live this week. One of the best openings I've seen at a concert. Had this huge LCD screen that had a countdown of just LED numbers counting down to what you thought was the start of the show..they ended up coming out before 0:00. Started playing. Then at 0:00, the song kicked into high gear. Very cool.
Chris Martin being silly
