In the last year, Kira and I have built a friendship with Tim Johnson and his family. We've particularly got to know his mom, Dee, as well. Dee is an amazing woman. She is a prolific author, playwright, songwriter, musician, poet, and historian. Oh, and a great mom. A few years ago, Tim was in a bad accident and has been severly disabled since. I am amazed how much he can still communicate, though. He has a board (that his mom made) that has letters on it and allows him to spell out his answers. Some of Tim's favorite things are...Western movies, motorcycles, the sitcom Becker..and pretty ladies. Dee (who visits Tim EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. is trying to get him moved to the Inpatient Restorative Therapy program at St Joe's here.
